Loomed Recorder Case
My daughter had bought some yarn Paton's Be Mine in pink for a baby hat, well it didn't make it to that....I knew she wasn't going to make a hat with it, so I suggested a recorder case
Here is the pattern:

Supplies used:
Small gauge loom with at least 18 pegs
Yarn (bulky weight)
tapestry needle
crochet hook
Stitches and techniques used:
Ewrap
Purl (if using the garter stitch)
decrease
You will be making a flat panel to begin with. This will make the flat bottom. If you are not familiar with a flat bottom check out Crystal's blog. You can make your bottom using a garter stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) or stockinette (knit every row). Garter stitch is easier when you have to attach your side stitches because of the row bumps.
Cast on 9 pegs and knit 1 row, then turn and purl going back 1 row skipping the 1st peg. Do this for 10 rows.
Next you will b
e bringing up the bottom and placing the loops on the other side of the loom. You piece should look like a hammock hanging. Then pick up the side loops and place them on the remaining empty pegs
. At this point, all the pegs should have a loop on them and you are ready to knit in the round.
Knit using the ewrap stitch until the item reaches 13". Now you will need to do a basic bind off of 9 pegs. You should have 10 pegs remaining. You will be knitting a flat panel again. Knit 3 rows of all 10 pegs.
Now we will decrease for the flap. Move the loop on peg 2 to peg 3 move loop on peg 1 to peg 2 which is now empty. Now take the loop on peg 9 and move to peg 8. Then take the loop on peg 10 and move to peg 9 which is now empty. You should have 8 loops on pegs and you have just made a decrease on both ends of the row. Wrap and knit off. Turn skipping the end peg wrap and knit off going back the other way. Continue this pattern until 4 loops (stitches) remain.

Bind off these 4 stitches with a crochet hook. With the last loop remaining on the hook, chain 5 or 6 (big enough to get your button through). Cut yarn and pull through loop. Attach needle and sew to other side of flap. Secure and weave in all loose ends.
