Dishcloths I have made

Here are the dishcloths I have made in the last few weeks. Let me know what you think if you want.

I'm Still Here...just busy creating

Wow....has it been a long time since I have posted. The weather was great then and now all we have is snow and rain yuck!!! I am so tired of this white stuff and to think we still have at least two and half more months to get it.

I have been busy needle knitting dishcloths, all for Christmas presents to my mom and grandma. I will try and get pictures up later. I think my favorite right now to make is the ballband dishcloth which is extremely easy and produces a great dishcloth. I hope to try the garterlac pattern....looks complicated. I did even manage to write a pattern for a coyote dishcloth which I will post later when I get it written up. I also joined the Monthly Dishcloth KAL group which is great. Lots of great people and neat patterns also. Andi is great and very talented. And also the Fun Knitting Dishcloths KAL. Judith there is also very talented creating dishcloths for us to try.

On my looms I have a hat for my little one which I hope to finish, but seem to find other things t make such as a backpack which I hope to have a pattern up soon. There there is also an illusion knitted dishcloth for valentines I hope to have ready to go for the Looming Dishcloths Exchange in February. So little time and so many ideas.

If you like to make things and get mail. I started a group in November just for that reason. Loom Knitting Exchange is a small group right now, but I do hope we grow. We have exchanged dishcloth and mini stockings so far and I hope to get an exchange going for kitchen items soon. Other items to make and exchange are hats, scarves, bookmarks, etc. You get the idea.

Until later....Loom on!

Striped Toddler Mitten

Toddler mittens finally finished. I used Lynn's 30 peg fine gauge loom and her basic mitten pattern along with the 10 peg fine gauge thumb buddy to make Noah a pair of mittens. I used Lion Brand's Magic Stripes sock yarn.

To the left, I added a tag board for anyone wanting to chat or leave me a message. Keep on looming!! Posted by Picasa

Did anyone say Mittens?

I figured I better post since it's been awhile. The Fair Isle Mitten does have a mate see...I finally got of my b*** and took a picture. While I was doing that I manage to take pictures of the convertible mitten that I am making with the thumb attached. And while I'm on the subject of mitten's, I am making my son, who is 2, a pair of mittens on the 30 peg fine gauge round loom I received from Markman Farm. I'll post them when I get them finished, which should be in a couple of days. At that time I will post the mini stockings I made for the troops also.

I am also working on a dishcloth I charted but ran into some problems as I have a fine gauge dishcloth rake and worsted weight cotton yarn....yarn too big. I'm going to try and use Bernat's Cool Crochet yarn to see if that makes a difference. Will try and post on the result.

Finished mitten

Here is a mitten I finished (other one is done too and will post the pair) for September's KAL for Markman Looms Yahoo Group. I used Lynn Markman's Basic Mitten pattern, btw, is simple to follow and modified it a little to fit my hand. I also used a fair isle pattern from the book "1000 Great Knitting Motifs". My daughter has now claimed them so I am off to create a pattern for a pair of convertible mittens. I have the pattern drawn out on paper and have been working on them, but I am not liking the way the ribbing is coming out for the cuff. The ladders in between are just too wide. Be on the lookout in the next coming weeks for them under free patterns. Posted by Picasa

Works in Progress

Looks like I'm going to have a busy end of summer. I have entered a loomed bookmark exchange which I hope to post progress on it soon. Deadline to mail is Aug. 25, so it doesn't leave me much time. I am also participating in a Mystery Sock KAL and will be knitting on dpn's "Leaves of Grass" Anklet by Marilyn Roberts. Again I will try and post progress on the sock...I am going to have to break down and by a EFG sock knitter and start catching that sock bug ;).

I also have almost finished my turtleneck sleevless shell by Knitting Pure & Simple (212). I have modified it a little by making it a mock. I knitted it on needles with Cascade PimaTencel in black...talk about soft cotton....mmmmm. I will try and get a picture of it after it is finished.

Until later....keep on knitting/looming!!

I Knit a Noni!

Well it's finally finished. My "In the Sculptured Garden" Noni bag is finally done! I think I am addicted to her patterns...super simple and easy to make on large needles. Here is what it looked like before felting.

In pieces at left...it called for a vine (i-cord) and three flowers, but I just wanted them on one side so I did only two and 5 leaves, but only did 3. I also didn't like the way the flowers felted, so I added some crystal A/B beads to added a little sparkle and cover up the holes

Here is what it looks like when it is felted and lined:

I think I will try one of her smaller bags. Thanks Isela for hosting this KAL...it was fun! I hope to enter this into our County Fair next year as I didn't get it done for this years.

What's Your Temperament?

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament

Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace.
You are very consistent - both in emotions and actions.
You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected.

It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional.
You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others.
While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well.

At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything.
You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams.
You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.

That pretty much sums me up most of the time....since joining FLYlady I am slowly changing my CHAOS into peace. I should have my Noni Bag finished today! YEAH!!!! I'll post before felted and the finished item hopefully later today.
Until later....Keep on Loomin'

Noni Bag

I am doing "In the Sculptured Garden" Noni Bag (ordered from kpixie.com)which is a triangle bagguette with pretty camilia flowers on the front and back. I picked the colors of black and delphinium (a periwinkle color) in Cascade 220 yarn. I will post pictures of the progress as soon as I can take a picture of it.

Also I have on my small gauge wonderloom a hat done in fair isle knitting...It is a pattern I found for knitting turkish socks that I checked out from the library. I will also post a picture as soon as I get enough done so you can see the pattern.

Until later...loom on!

I have another bag in the works and will get it up as soon as I get it out of my head and down on paper along with it knitted out.

Here is the Fabulous felted bag I created using Caron's Fabulous and 100% worsted weight wool . If you are interested in the pattern, it can be purchased by clicking the "Buy Now" button below. Price is $3.00

Bags, Bags Bags

I been making bags, and felting bags which I am totally addicted to. Lynn Markman of Markman Farms (http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/markman_looms) is having a Spring pattern contest and I have been trying to come up with patterns for that in the last couple of weeks. If you belong to the group check out the folder. I have come up with a woven bottom mesh bag and am working on a felted gift bag.
which is almost ready to be felted. I will try and post a picture of it if I can remember.
<--Here is the woven bottom mesh bag.

I will try and get pictures of the other bags I have felted and their results. One cell phone case (lt. blue posted earlier) didn't felt at all, it GREW!! I know not to use that yarn again even though it said it was 100% wool. I made another cell phone holder that I can put on my belt and my very first felting project ever is a tote that didn't quite felt the way I wanted it. I'll post pictures hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

I ordered the new Wonderloom from Decor Accents, Inc. two weeks ago and am trying patiently to wait for it to come. I am looking forward to using a small gauge loom...I have so many ideas floating around in my head I would like to make them a reality one of these days before I forget. (getting older really stinks!)

Until later...loom on!

WIPS

Not much happening this past week really. I have a few WIP's, as I am trying to put together a pattern for a sleeveless shell...here is what I have loomed so far. The yarn is Reynolds Saucy which is a cotton yarn.

I also have almost finished a small flat bottom bag from Crystal's Blog that I hope to felt. It will be my first one. I also have a bag (small tote) that I hope to finished today to felt and I will post before and after pictures together to show the difference. I hope it turns out.

And here are the dreaded socks for Noah. The yarn is Lion Brand Magic Stripes, that are almost finished, but I just haven't taken the time to finish them...maybe one of these days. lol

Well back to looming and hopefully more to post soon. Loom on!

looming NoahWell it's been over a month since I've posted anything....been busy with life, looming, crocheting and knitting as well as showing my bunnies.

I do have to share with you a picture of my future loomer. He wants to be like mom...maybe when he is a little older I can teach him...Isn't he the cutest! :)

Here are a few projects I have been working on...

To the left is the towel topper I made for the towel topper exchange, it was fun and I received a very pretty towel topper from Sue Guthman. It is hanging on my stove as I write this....it is so springy that it definately brightens up this ugly Oregon weather we have been having lately.

I have also been knitting and crocheting preemie hats and booties and a blanket (1 so far). The booties have been fun and were the first I had ever done...never did make any for my own kids. These hats booties and afghan will be going to Teeny Tiny Treasures in NC.

Mar 14, 2006

Well, I'm still plugging away on my socks. The ribbing is so slow for me, but I'll get them done and get them posted. I need to start on preemie hats for Teeny Tiny Treasures...I have 100 hats to make, and a towel topper to do....so little time.

I took this quiz on what kind of flower am I. I was at http://sandis-creations.blogspot.com/ and she had it on her blog. Here are the results:

HASH(0x8d49bc0)
You are a Carnation:
You are friendly, energetic, cheerful, and bubbly.
You love being around people. Outgoing and
talkative, you rarely meet a stranger. Others
feel at ease around you because of your
playful nature.
Symbolism: In Victorian times carnations were given
to show fascination with another. They also
symbolize friendship and whimsicalness.

Which Flower are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

We should have a litter of hollands either today or tomorrow and this weekend I will be going to a show in Kennewick, WA. I am taking a couple of our Juniors. I will post their results probably on Sunday. I hope they do well.

I also hope to post a picture of Noah's socks some time this week. Until later...

It's a Miracle!

Saturday Morning we had a litter of six holland lop bunnies born early (I didn't get the nest box in the doe's cage in time) so she had them on the wire. The great thing was we were able to save 3 out of the six...they were ice cold, but with a hair dryer and a heating pad we were able to get them breathing again.

I am looming a pair of toddler socks from the pattern Isela from Decor Accents posted decoraccentsinc@yahoogroups.com for my son, Noah. I made a tin can loom from the instructions on frame_knitting@yahoogroups.com hope to get these done soon. I am using Lion Brand Magic Stripes They should be cute. Until later....

Whew....It's finished!

I just finished a cell phone holder/case that I knitted on the blue knifty knitter (kk) loom. Let me know what you think. It is for my mom so she can take it on her trip to Arizona. I am now off to start a poncho for my daughter....will try to post the progress. I am hoping my husband will get my adjustable loom made this weekend so I can start making some socks!!!

Feb 21, 2006

This is the first post of my blog...I hope to have some pics up soon of some of my looming projects.
